Description
A colourful new coral red autumn foliage selection of the Chinese species, Picrasma quassioides, selected by Glyn Church at Woodleigh Garden, New Plymouth, New Zealand. This selection has the best autumn foliage colour – much improved on the species which colours yellow – orange tones in autumn. ‘Woodleigh’ forms an elegant deciduous small – medium sized tree. The mid green – pinnate Ash like summer foliage colours in autumn to fantastic coral red to scarlet tones which holds for weeks and weeks. ‘Woodleigh’ is the perfect choice as a small street in the modern landscape or equally home in today’s small town gardens. Best grown in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy. 4 x 4m.

Small pale green flowers in loose clusters.
Foliage
Deciduous mid green – pinnate Ash like summer foliage colouring in autumn to fantastic coral red to scarlet tones which holds for weeks and weeks.
Habit
Perfect shade tree with wide spreading symmetrical pyramid shape reaching 4 metres high after ten years.
Culture
Happy in full sun to partial shade in well drained soils. Brightest autumn foliage is achieved when grown in full sun.
